EDITOR’S NOTE:
We are thrilled to see your response to our
December issue. Readers have been calling us
up or writing to us wanting to know more about
IC program and news. We’ve even had non-IC
alumni requesting to be on our mailing list. And
so in response to all your requests, we are issuing
an additional spring issue. We are so happy to
see that you are interested in our work here and
believe in our mission.
Our most exciting news this year is that IC con-
tinues to be accredited by NEASC (New Eng-
land Association of Schools and Colleges) and CIS (Council of International
Schools). The accreditation process takes place every decade and comes only
after an exhaustive self-study on behalf of the school. So basically, for the
past two years we have been evaluating every single aspect of our school and
compiling a report to be presented to the accreditors.
In October, representatives from the CIS and NEASC arrived to inspect us.
Their answer came a few months later: we are still an accredited school. This
is indeed glorious news and testimony that we are doing a good job and that
IC is well placed in the world of international schools.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you that because of the politi-
cal and economic plight of the country, some are of our students’ parents
are facing financial problems and we find ourselves obliged to increase our
financial aid budget.
Now, more than ever, we want to preserve our diversity of students. Our
mission must continue. And indeed we are committed for it to continue.
Without your support and belief in us, we cannot possibly provide deserving
yet needy students with this chance of a brilliant education.
We are enclosing an envelope for donations in the newsletter. We ask that
those who can help out please do so.
A special thank you to those who have sent in their contributions. This
means a lot to IC
Best wishes always,
