Alumni Updates
Celia Jaber ’03
is currently finishing her third year in
Graphic Design at AUB and looking forward to graduation
next year. She is working with Theatre de Mazitou on a
family play that will be ready to open in June. Celia was
hired to create animations which will be projected during
the play as well as to create the main characters. In the near
future, she will be traveling to Montreal, Canada for two
months for her summer internship.
“It’s been a very fascinating and exciting year for me and I
wish to express my gratefulness to my grand school,
International College, and to all my outstanding teachers
that prepared me for my life-long journey. Using the tools
and the knowledge that I have developed during my 15
years at I.C, I have excelled in my environment.” says
Kamal Kayat ’03
, who is now a senior at Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University finishing his AerospaceEengineering
degree. He has have been listed on the National Dean’s List
and has been inducted into four different academic and
leadership national honor societies. Kamal is assigned as a
head system engineer in the ERAU satellite development
group, where he is working on a cubesat that will be
launched and deployed in Earth’s orbit by the end of next
year. He has been offered an exclusive research intern posi-
tion by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) and an engineering internship by the Boeing
Company. “These are few of my recent accomplishments
that would have not been possible were it not for the skills
that I have gained through my years at I.C. Thank you
everyone for everything!”
Serene El-Khayat ’03
is an Architectural Engineering major
at the BAU, Beirut Arab University, where she is currently
finishing up her third year. She ranked second in her class
the past year and hopefully will be keeping up the same
standards for the upcoming years. Serene has been partici-
pating in many exciting activities since she got into BAU.
She met Bahia El Hariri and the Minister of Education
thanks to the great Architectural Exhibitions they have held
for the past two years. She also has had several internships
with Khatib & Alami, and with a sub-contracting company
at the new Solidere Projects.
Yara Saab ’03
will be graduating by the end of June with a
BA in Political Science and a minor in History from the
American University of Beirut. She has been awarded a full
scholarship to attend the United Nations University for
Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica, where she will acquire an
M.A. in International Law and the Settlement of Disputes.
Nadine Jazouli ’04 is in her second year of studying market-
ing and advertising at USJ. Simultaneously, she is working
in the marketing department and as a helper in Ceramic
Lounge, a place where you can enjoy painting on ceramic
while savoring different food and drinks. Come and visit her
at the heart of Saifi Village.
Walid Ismail ’04
has been living for the past two years in
Los Angeles, California, where he attended Glendale
Community College as a Mechanical Engineering. In the fall
of 2006 he will be transferring to UCLA. "I would like to
thank all my professors at IC (with no exceptions), because
without them I would have never been able to achieve my
goals” Walid states.
Roupen Karageuzian ’04
is currently a Junior at the
American University of Beirut, studying Business
Administration with an Emphasis in Marketing, in addition
to studying Piloting at J.R Executive.
Abdallah Salam ’04
is in his second year student at Harvard
University, majoring in Economics. He lives in Lowell
House, one of the largest undergraduate communities at
Harvard. During his time at Harvard, he has worked as a
Research Assistant, as well as a liaison to a former US
Ambassador. Currently, he is the publisher of the Harvard
French Review. This summer, Abdallah has an internship at
the World Bank in Beirut.
Ramzi Asbahan ’05
is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in
Business Administration, studying for a BBA at AUB. He
expects to graduate in June of 2009 and is considering pur-
suing an MBA in the States thereafter.
Sabine Bachian ’05
is studying at Northeastern University in
Boston, Mass, majoring in Communications and Economics.
During the month of June, she will be completing an intern-
ship at Grey Worldwide, an American advertising company
in Lebanon. She will be back in Boston in September to
start her second year.
Ralph R. Debbas ’05
is currently finishing his first year of
graphic design at LAU. He got accepted to the number one
car designing school in the world in Coventry, England, will
be leaving Beirut in September to major in Automotive
design and technology.
Joanna Duba ’05
is currently studying Graphic Design at
AUB and loving it. Her future plans include a post-graduate
study in Computer Animation.
Zeinab Fawaz ’05
is finishing up her first year in the
University of Bradford on the 6th of June. She majored in
Computer Animation and special Effects, which requires great
determination, hard work, and patience. Hopefully, by next
year Zeinab will have owned all three skills. She is looking
forward to visiting her school and teachers in the summer.
Amer Tamim ’05
is currently majoring in Economics at
McGill University, Montréal, Canada; he expects to gradu-
ate in two years.
Lamis Yahia ’05
is currently studying Clinical Laboratory
Sciences at the American University of Science and
Technology. Her future plans include specialization in
Molecular Biology and Cytogenesis.
