Hani Haykal ‘71
is married to Amal
El-Hassan and has four children. He is
the Director of Neuroradiology at The
Methodist Neurological Institute/Well
Cornell Medical School.
John Nercessian ’74
(then known as
Johnny) lives with his wife (Lebanese)
and three children in Atlanta Georgia,
where he is involved in the export of
American made furniture to the Middle
East. “I visit Lebanon a few times a year
and am in touch regularly with several
IC grads,” he writes. After graduating
from IC, John spent a year at Haigazian
University and left to the USA where he
continued his education at George Wash-
ington University (Washington, DC) and
graduated in 1978.
David Walters ’77
went to an English
boarding school and then studied at AUB
and continued on to Oxford Univer-
sity. He then worked in the investment
banking sector. “I then decided to give
up that side of things and since I had a
helicopter license, decided to use it to fly
NGOs (non governmental organizations,
charities) food and supplies in and out of
Africa, namely west Africa and now Su-
dan,” he writes. “Just one word of advice
guys and girls, do what is in your hearts
not what people say you should.” You

Fouad Moujaes ’78
is the head of his
recently established company which
has earned the license to market and
facilitate Personal Development and
Leadership training programs to all types
of business managers at all levels from
a highly acclaimed American company
(established in 1966 and operates in
more than 60 countries).
He is based in Lebanon but works in
most of the Middle East region.
Fadi Abdelkhalek ’79
is currently liv-
ing in the Dubai-UAE. He is married to
Rana and has two daughters, Leah, 10
and Sarah, 4. He is working for Oracle
Corp in Dubai internet city.

Camille Kodsi ‘80
graduated from
AUB medical school in 1987 and prac-
tices Anesthesia at Union Memorial Hos-
pital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Zuhair Tibi ’80
is a Senior Aircraft
Engineer with JetBlue Airways, based at
JFK, NY.
Ziad Khatib ‘80
is the director of
Neuro-oncology at Miami Children’s
Hospital, and resides in Miami, Florida
with his wife Randa Walid Mnaymneh
and Laila, 11, and Sami, 9. He has been
taking care of children with cancer for
15 years and loves to hear from fellow IC

Walid Alami ‘81
resides in Scottsdale,
AZ with his wife, Sahar, daughter, Noor,
7, and son, Jad, 3. He runs his private
practice in Interventional Cardiovascular
Medicine. He was supposed to relocate
permanently to Lebanon during the
summer of 2006 after being away for 20
years. “Sadly things did not materialize
due to the current turmoil in the coun-
try,” he writes. “I hope to move back with
many others in the near future.”
Samer Hasan ‘82
is an orthopedic
shoulder and elbow surgeon and co-
director of Cincinnati Sports medicine
and Orthopedic Center in Ohio. He was
recently admitted into the American
Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, an inter-
national society of 300 academic shoulder
and elbow specialists, thereby becoming
its only Arabic-speaking member. He and
his wife, Mariana, have two children Ce-
cilia (4) and Tarek (15 months).
Fadi Roueissy ’83
works with Nestle;
first in Lebanon for two years and then
in the Gulf for the past 14 years (Abu
Dhabi, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen and since
2005 Bahrain).
“I wish success to all my friends and
colleagues from IC,” he writes “Especially
the class of 1983 and hope that maybe
one day we can get in touch.”

have recently moved to
Dubai with their three kids Nadia and
Maia who attended IC Ain Aar in the last
4 years and Raja who attended nursery at
IC Ain Aar.

were blessed with a baby girl
in November.
Wassim Soweid ’85
is married to
Ghada Tabbara. They have two children
Omar, 9, and Judy, 7. They have been
living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia since
1996 where Wassim works as Regional
Marketing Director MENA for S.C.
Johnson, a US based leading multina-
tional household products company.
They visit Lebanon 3-4 times per year. “I
was looking at Torch ’85 and noticed that
only two of my classmates in Math B are
still living in Lebanon,” writes Wassim,
“while the others are dispersed all over
the world. To my classmates, here is my

Bassem Safadi ’85
received his BSc,
MD at AUB and trained in surgery in
Cleveland and San Francisco. He studied
General Surgeon +Obesity Surgery at
Stanford. He recently married
Leila Ka-
balan ‘94.
He moved back to Lebanon
in 2005 and is now working at AUH. He
has two children: Samer and Maya.
