USAID Scholarship
On behalf of the US government, United States Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman
visited IC on April 13, 2006. Ambassador Feltman presented IC with a USAID
check for the amount of $280,000, designated as scholarship money. The IC
community expresses its thanks and gratitude for this scholarship grant which
helps us maintain our high standards.
During his visit to IC, Ambassador Feltman met at Martin House with some IC
students and asked them about their IC experience, and what sets the school
apart from other institutions. Among the most popular responses was the fact
that IC provides an environment
where all religious sects can work
and study together in harmony. In
return, the ambassador answered stu-
dents who wanted to know if he
liked Lebanon. Ambassador Feltman
told them that he was keen to be
working in a place where people are
warm, and that he could not have imagined a better post, especially at such cru-
cial time in Lebanon’s history.
Ambassador Feltman said he enjoyed talking with students
as a refreshing change from politicians.
