born girl, Sarah Eliza, born March 14, 2006. Ramzi has
been a Senior Mechanical Engineer at the international A&E
firm of RTKL Associates Inc. since 2001.
Nicolas Rubeiz ’86
moved to Dubai four years ago, where
he holds the position of Country Manager for the Azadea
Group in the UAE. Azadea Group is a major retail group in
the Middle East, operating around 30 franchises in the
Middle East and Eastern Europe. These brands include
Zara, Massimo Dutti, Mango, Virgin Megastores, and others.
Nicolas is married to Nada Abou Jaoude and they have two
children, Serge (4) and Leticia (3 months old).
Mounir Sinno ’86
and his wife, Nerveen, are pleased to
announce the birth of their son, Kareem, on February 9.
Kareem is enjoying the care and attention of his lovely
brother, Souheil (3), who is now an IC student.
Abdel Afou Moumneh ’87
got married and has three kids,
Alaa, Basmala, and Sami. He is commuting between Beirut
and Dubai
Husni Houssami ’87
has been happily married since 1995
to Lina Barrage and has been blessed with three children:
Sélim (10), Omar (8), Tamara (5). After IC, he enrolled at
BUC for a year, but was then forced out of Beirut to Nicosia
due to the political unrest. There, he completed 30 credits
at Cyprus College. In 1990, he enrolled at Concordia
University in Montreal, Canada, graduating with a degree in
Political Science and Commerce two years later. Husni
worked for United Parcel Services Ltd. (UPS) throughout his
seven year stay in Canada. He then joined NAPCO in
Jeddah, an affiliate of the INDEVCO Group in 1998, where
he started as a Sales Supervisor. Today, Husni is the Human
Resources Manager for Saudi Arabia and GCC.
Khalil Sukkar ’87
joined AUB to complete a bachelor
degree in nursing sciences. He then migrated and settled in
Melbourne, Australia in 1992. Since then, he has special-
ized in Gerontology and aged-care facility management,
Quality management, and staffing. He is currently complet-
ing a Doctorate in Business Administration from Royal
Melbourne Institute of Technology, researching staffing in
Residential Aged Care facilities, workload analysis, and
staffing algorithms. Khalil is married with two kids and loves
to hear from his class mates. Please e-mail him at

Yasser Kaaki ’88
recently opened an Architectural and
Interior Design firm, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with local part-
ners. The name of the company is BLU and its main branch
is located in Down Town Beirut. They have been awarded
projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addition to
Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Morocco, and of course,
Lebanon.
Dr. Bashar A. Al-Khalili ’88
is still living in Stockholm,
Sweden and works as a senior consultant in pediatric max-
illofacial surgery at the Eastman Institute. He researches on
a part-time basis (as a part of a slowly ongoing PhD project)
at the Royal Karolinska Institute and does follow up studies
of disturbances in maxillofacial growth in children treated
for cancer. He would love to hear from my former class-
mates and friends from his treasured time at IC.
Ziad Dakroub ’89
graduated from AUB in 1993 with a BE
in CCE, and then received his MBA from ESA in 1998. He is
currently Owners representative of Dunes: Managing the
Mall and oversees the Holiday Inn Hotel operation. He mar-
ried Rana Karaki in October 2004.
CLASS OF ’90 - ’99
Ahmad Alwan ’90
and his wife Roula are blessed with the
birth of their second child, baby girl Kinda Alwan, sister of
Hassan (4), who is attending College Protestant Francais.
Ahmad currently holds the position of Senior Dealer in
HSBC Global Markets, Beirut, Lebanon.
Dania Chaar ’90
and Malek Nsouli were blessed with Baby
Omar (born on October 11, 2005) in Saad Hospital, Saudi
Arabia. Dania and Malek live in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, but
will be moving next year to Amman, Jordan.
Wael Itani ’90
is still working for “American Safety Razors
(ASR) as Regional Manager Middle East, Africa & India and
operating from my Beirut office. He is married and has two
children, Yasmina (3) and Ahmad (7 months).
Shirine Nassar ’90
and husband Oliver Fayssal are extreme-
ly happy to announce the birth of their new baby girl,
Yumna, and baby boy, Nael, born on January 15th, 2006.
They are the younger siblings of Yara (5) and Nadim (4)
who are both currently IC preschool students.
Shawki Srour ’90
would like to announce the birth of his
son, Karim, who was born on February 24, 2006.
Corine Antabli ’91
is married to Ahmad Antabli. They have
four kids, Omar (10), Walid (8), Tarek (4), and Jana (2).
Corine would like to send her best regards to the class of
1991.
Nisrine Ghazal ’92
and Ali Sabbagh are proud to announce
the birth of their healthy, baby boy, Khalil-Ryan, on the
13th of February, 2006. He is the younger brother of three-
year old daughter, Lia. The family is still residing in Dubai.
Ibrahim Hajj ’92
got married to Mariam Mouzannar and the
happy couple now has a baby daughter, Serena, who was
born on the November 26, 2005. Ibrahim is now working in
Riyadh with Rotana Media services.
Dr. Sophie Bakri ’93
is an Assistant Professor of
Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA.
She specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vit-
reous. Dr Bakri graduated from the University of
Nottingham Medical School, England, where she obtained
